One-click AI background removal that produces a clean RGBA cutout with no manual masking needed.
AI Remove Background uses AI to automatically detect the subject in an image and remove everything else, producing a clean transparent (RGBA) cutout.
Four models are available at the same flat per-image credit cost (the exact rate is shown on the node before you run it):
- rembg: fast and reliable general-purpose removal, open-source baseline for clean subjects.
- Bria RMBG 2.0 (default): higher quality results, especially on complex edges like hair and fur.
- Ideogram: tuned for illustrations, AI-generated art, and typography.
- Pixelcut: tuned for product photography and e-commerce studio shots.
Because the credit cost is the same across all four, the choice is purely about which engine handles your subject best. See Credits & Pricing for the current rate.
The output is a standard image with alpha transparency that can be composited, padded, recolored, or exported like any other node output.
Usage Tips
Section titled “Usage Tips”- Default to Bria RMBG 2.0 for most photographic subjects with complex edges (hair, fur, foliage).
- Switch to Ideogram for illustrations, vector-style work, or AI-generated art where you want hard, deliberate edges.
- Switch to Pixelcut for product photography and clean studio shots where the subject contrasts cleanly with the background.
- Use rembg as a fast open-source fallback if the others miss the subject.
- Wire the output into Pad to add consistent margins around the cutout.
- Combine with Palette Remap and Export Batch to generate and export color variants of the cutout in one pipeline.
