Vignette
Darkens (or lightens) the edges of an image with a soft elliptical gradient.
Vignette applies an elliptical falloff from the center to the edges of the image. Negative amount darkens the edges (classic vignette); positive amount brightens them. Size controls how large the ellipse is, and softness controls how gradually the effect transitions.
The center offset lets you move the vignette focus off-center, which is useful for emphasizing a subject that isn’t in the middle of the frame.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”Pins
Filter
Negative = darken edges, Positive = brighten edges. 0 = no effect
Scale of the vignette ellipse. 100% = edge at image boundary. Smaller = tighter, larger = pushed outward
Width of the falloff gradient. 0% = hard edge, 100% = smooth from center
Horizontal center offset. -1 = left edge, 0 = center, 1 = right edge
Vertical center offset. -1 = top edge, 0 = center, 1 = bottom edge
Vignette color (used when darkening)
Usage Tips
Section titled “Usage Tips”- A subtle vignette (amount -0.2 to -0.4) draws the eye toward the center naturally.
- Use a custom color other than black for creative vignette effects. The color only applies when darkening (negative amount); brightening always blends toward white.
- Combine with a centered subject and a tight size for dramatic spotlight focus.
