Lens Distortion
Apply or correct camera-lens distortion, or add bulge and sphere warps.
Lens Distortion bends the image in one of three modes. Lens applies camera-lens barrel and pincushion distortion across the whole frame and can also run in reverse to remove it. Bulge and Sphere are localized warps centered on a point, bounded by a radius.
The default mode. Amount drives barrel distortion (positive, pushing the frame outward) or pincushion distortion (negative, pinching it inward) across the entire image. The Edge control adds a secondary distortion concentrated in the far corners; giving it the opposite sign to Amount produces wavy mustache distortion.
The Direction toggle switches between Distort and Correct. Correct applies the exact mathematical inverse of Distort, so it can remove lens distortion from a photo or 3D render, not just add it.
Fill Frame (on by default) automatically zooms the result to the smallest scale that leaves no blank borders at the edges, recomputed whenever Amount, Edge, Direction, Center, or the input size changes. Turn it off to set Scale manually.
The classic spherical distortion: a power-curve push or pinch inside the radius. Positive Amount values push the image outward as if wrapped around a sphere; negative values pull inward for a concave pinch.
Sphere
Section titled “Sphere”Wraps the image onto a glass-ball hemisphere inside the radius, for a more pronounced fisheye-like bulge than Bulge mode.
Bulge and Sphere share Radius (the size of the affected circle, as a percentage of half the smaller image dimension), a repositionable Center, and a Feather control that softens the boundary of the affected circle so it blends back into the undistorted image.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”Pins
Lens Distortion
- Positive: barrel / bulge outward.
- Negative: pincushion / pinch inward.
Horizontal center of distortion
Vertical center of distortion
Percentage of half the smaller image dimension. 100% covers center to edge; 200% extends beyond bounds
Softens the boundary of the affected circle. 0% keeps the full effect out to the edge; higher values blend smoothly back into the undistorted image
Secondary distortion concentrated in the far corners. Opposite sign to Amount produces wavy mustache distortion
Zooms the result around the center. Use Fit Scale to Frame to hide blank borders the distortion leaves at the edges
Automatically keeps Scale at the smallest zoom that leaves no blank borders, recomputed whenever Amount, Edge, Direction, Center, or the input size change. Overrides the Scale slider

Display
Overlay a warped grid in the preview showing how the distortion bends the image. Display-only; never affects the output
The Show Grid overlay draws a warped grid in the preview showing exactly how the distortion bends the image. It is display-only and never affects the output. The center, radius, and feather can also be dragged directly on the canvas.
Usage Tips
Section titled “Usage Tips”- Use Lens mode with Direction set to Correct to straighten barrel or pincushion distortion from wide-angle photos before compositing.
- Keep Fill Frame on so the result auto-zooms past the blank borders that distortion and correction leave at the edges.
- In Bulge mode, a moderate positive Amount (30–60%) gives a subtle fisheye; negative values pinch for miniature-planet or vortex effects.
- Raise Feather in Bulge or Sphere mode to blend the distorted circle smoothly back into the rest of the image.
