Pro License & Trial
The full 8-bit editor is free for personal and non-commercial use, with no time limit and every node included. ArcBrush Pro ($49, one-time) is needed in two situations: you use ArcBrush commercially, or you use a Pro feature - the 32-bit (float) mode and 16-bit / OpenEXR / OCIO color-managed export. The licensing FAQ covers when Pro applies in plain language; this page covers how the license and trial mechanically work.
The free trial
Section titled “The free trial”Every new account gets a 14-day free trial that unlocks every Pro feature, including 32-bit (float) mode and all Pro export formats.
- Start it from inside the app: sign in or create a free account under Settings > Account and activate the trial there. The clock starts when you activate it, not at install.
- The trial is timed by the server, so starting it needs an internet connection. (A purchased license has no such requirement - see below.)
- Working on real commercial or client project files during the trial is fine; that is what it is for. Trial output may not be published, sold, or delivered until you buy Pro or Studio - and once you do, your trial output is retroactively licensed.
- When the trial ends, the app reverts to the Free / Personal tier automatically. Projects created in 32-bit mode open in 8-bit mode, but the 32-bit document data is preserved in the file: reopening with a Pro license restores full precision.
Buying Pro
Section titled “Buying Pro”Pro is a one-time purchase of $49 at arcbrush.com/buy. Checkout asks only for an email address - no account needed - and the moment payment clears, your license file is emailed to you as an attachment plus a download link.
Installing your license
Section titled “Installing your license”Your license is a signed file, verified locally on your machine:
- Save the file from the delivery email anywhere on disk.
- In ArcBrush, open Settings > Account > Install License and select the file.
That is the whole process - there is no activation step and no server involved. If you happened to buy while signed in to an account in the app, ArcBrush installs the license for you automatically.
Using it on another machine
Section titled “Using it on another machine”Install the same license file there. There are no activation counts and no device slots to free: copy the file over, or have it re-sent to your purchase email, and install it the same way. A Pro license covers one named individual (you), per the seat terms in the Terms of Service.
Working offline
Section titled “Working offline”Fully supported, forever. ArcBrush never needs to contact a license server to let you work - not at install, not monthly, not ever. A permanently offline machine is fine.
Lost your license file?
Section titled “Lost your license file?”We keep a copy of every license we issue. Use the resend form and every active license for your purchase email is re-sent, file attached. Free and self-serve.
Updates and versions
Section titled “Updates and versions”Buy Pro once and every update within version 1.x is included. If a paid version 2 ever ships, it will be an optional upgrade at a discount, and the version you own keeps working.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”There is a 14-day money-back window, no reason required. See the refund policy.
Teams and larger organizations
Section titled “Teams and larger organizations”Organizations past the Pro revenue or funding caps, or teams that need multiple seats, license per seat with Studio - see the pricing page and the licensing FAQ.
